Notes on Salary

Now that you’ve had a chance to explore the school districts in Kentucky, let’s discuss differences in salaries among the districts.  The average teacher salary in the state of Kentucky is $43,802 for school year 2006-2007.*  This number varies among school districts so take a look at the average teacher salary for the northern Kentucky school districts.

  • Boone County                                     $44,422
  • Campbell County                               $42,610
  • Kenton County                                   $44,485
  • Ludlow Independent                        $46,409
  • Covington Independent                   $40,450
  • Erlanger-Elsmere Independent     $41,616
  • Fort Thomas Independent             $49,609

It’s hard to believe there is over a $9,000 difference in the average teacher salary across northern Kentucky.  If you want to teach in one of the highest paid school districts for teachers in Kentucky, move to Louisville.  Teachers in Jefferson County average almost $51,000.
